We, at BG Academy are happy to join you in the process of educating your child.
BG Academy is being established in memory of my father Shri Bahubali Gulabchand. He
was known as Seth BG in his circle. We wish to pass on his values and principles to all our
children at BGA.

When my sister and I received pocket money for the first time our father told us that we had
to account for all our expenditure. In case we failed to do so or had any extra money in our
pockets at the end of the month, as a penalty we would receive that much less in the next
month's pocket money. Believe me, our parents never checked our accounts. Every time our
mother handed us the pocket money and asked us if there was anything unaccounted for,
for, we
were honest enough to face the penalty. This honesty has never left us throughout our lives.
My experiences tell me that honesty pays. I really wonder what had made us so honest even
with trivial matters at such a tender age. I can only say that we have inherited this quality just

Seth BG was an extremely harmonious blend of traditional Indian culture and western
modernity, thus doing away with the rigidity that comes with boundaries. His principles were
a blend of the tolerance in Indian philosophy and the concept of equality, fraternity and
freedom introduced to us from Europe. He always lived by the set of values which he
inherited and nurtured all his life and which in turn made him. He believed in Jain philosophy,
though not in rituals. He had studied the Bhagvad Geeta and believed in 'Karmavaad'. He
firmly kept astrology and blind faith at bay. He did everything that needed to be done with a
sense of duty, but never expected rewards for himself. He was a 'Sthitapradnya' or a
detached being, in the true sense. No one ever saw him being affected by outside
influences; he was above negative attitudes like anger, jealousy, hatred etc. He was always a
very composed person. He had his share of rough times during which he maintained his
composure. Nothing, and absolutely nothing, made him stray from his principles. Yes, he did
enjoy his life. He enjoyed the luxuries and the status; he enjoyed his hobbies like literature,
photography and rifle shooting; he enjoyed an enviable rapport with his brother.

Seth BG was proud to be an Indian. Walchand Group of Industries built itself as a
contribution to India's self-sufficiency during the struggle for freedom. As Chairman of
Walchand Group in the post-independence era of socialism, he believed that the industrial
setup was for the upliftment of the newly formed society in our country. Values and ethics
were always the driving factors in Walchand Industries. Shri Bahubali Gulabchand had
inherited a legacy of principles which had a deep impact on his overall personality.

Seth BG was a man of languages. He appreciated Sanskrit, he loved Marathi and had an
excellent command over English. He knew how to use his words effectively. He respected
the power of words. His staff and younger members of the family always felt the
effectiveness of his words. He asserted himself by every action of his and every word he
spoke. Yes, he was a man of few words which made a lasting impression.

I was always a silent admirer of my father and wished to inherit his qualities and follow his
principles. Believe me, it was not so easy, especially while growing up in a world of media
and a push button lifestyle. These principles need to be a way of life and constantly nurtured.
We need to be sensitive enough to apply them in the context of today's world, to keep them
inspiring us and pass them on to the next generation. I assure you that the team at BGA will
uphold the same principles and have the vision to be guided by them in the world of
tomorrow. The team realizes the needs of the next generation and is geared to make our
children take all challenges of life in their own stride.

Children are very impressionable and absorb many kinds of inputs. Therefore, the innocent
young mind is receptive to an assortment of skills, giving it a thinking base. The aim of BG
Academy is to foster innovative thinking for fundamental research among children to
enable them to play a crucial role in contributing to the country's progress. They will
get enough grooming to have confidence in themselves to do so.

Parents are victims of the fast paced information age and pressures of competition for
survival. They fall short of time in spite of imbibing the principles of 'quality time'. The
phenomenon of double income parents and latchkey children is a stark reality. We have
chosen to take note of it.

BG Academy will open its gates at 8 a.m. for children, who will leave at 4 p.m. They are
given time for re-juvenate themselves after hectic school schedule. They shall revise for their
academic subjects regularly. They shall have time to spend with their parents, relatives and
help with household chores every day. This should help them build emotional ties with their
families, something which we are losing out on in the present decade. Though we do not like
to voice it, we all have faced it and suffered it in silence. Just as the next generation has the
right to inherit a pollution-free environment, it also has the right to be emotionally stable and
have close family ties. We wish to help build them. Of course, we shall take care that you will
be saved from hopping to stationary shops or tailors for uniforms every now and then. You do
not have to worry about packing tiffins and filling water bottles for your children. You could
drive them to school and back so that you can chat with them along the way. We trust that
you will use all the time we have saved you, in passing on their inheritance to them. Children
should be aware of the culture they are born in, they must be a part and parcel of all festivals,
celebrations and family functions. Talk to them about your religion, your culture. They have
the right to inherit it.

|
|
We shall inform you of the subjects we introduce to your child at BGA, so that you can
communicate with them on the same wavelength. Of course, children of educated families
like yours come to our academy with a lot of knowledge. Our team will take them a step
ahead. We are sure that they will interact with their peers on the same intellectual level.
|
|
|
We shall be glad to have your child grow with us.
