“All good things come to an end”. Here we are at the threshold of another academic year; paving the way for the start of another. As it is said the end of one thing is always the beginning of another. The past few months have been a hustle bustle of activities at BGA.

The New Year started off with the students watching the movie “High school musical 3” On 2nd January, the students from Grade III to X. had a great time watching it. Once back in school, the students narrated the storyline, discussed the movie, did a critical review and the characterization of it.

A Brahmastra class was conducted in the school by Oneness University. The parents and staff have taken advantage of it on 17th of Jan

On 26th Jan, Republic Day, the students proudly saluted the national flag. They sang patriotic songs and performed a short skit. Each student went home that day brimming with a feeling of patriotism; proud to be an Indian.

In the month of February, Mr Mahendran and Mr. Mane conducted a workshop on “The Alpha state of mind” for teachers. The workshop was split into three sessions of two hours each. The workshop dealt with visualizing and achieving what you truly desire.

We at BGA believe in keeping parents up to date about the progress of there child and the all the activates and events being carried out in the school. A parent teacher meeting was held on 7th Feb, where parents come & discussed their child’s progress, with the teachers.

On 28th Feb, Grade III to VIII visited IUCAA they saw a working model of how the star twinkles and Foucault’s pendulum, and visited stalls making toys and models, based on simple scientific principles, all using waste material. The visit was very informative and kindled in the students the desire to learn and know more.

“Learning by doing” is something we firmly believe in and put into practice. To develop the inquisitive and intelligent minds of the students, an 13 kids (intelligent, inquisitive, innovative) workshop was conducted for the students. The workshop was spread over a period of three Thursdays. The students performed experiments and understood scientific concepts in a fun way. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Anupama Singh.

Special Mentions:

Atreya Mandnikar, of Grade III, an avid and enthusiastic chess player, was awarded certificates of appreciation at the Brilliant Mores chess Academy and the Chandrakala Goyal Chess tournaments.

Mrs. Amruta Tikhe attended an interactive session on ESOL, (English for speaker of other languages), organized by the University of Cambridge, and conducted by Mr. Dunken Rayner. She felt that the efforts and the techniques we adopt at BGA, for imparting language skills, are similar and in some ways more unique and effective.

Here’s looking forward to another good and eventful academic year ahead!
